Bassam began his training at Aspire Academy. In his home country, In Iraq, he joined Al-youth Rayyan’s academy and represented the club in various divisions. Rawi joined Al-Rayyan’s senior team in 2015 and made his professional debut the same year.

Bassam agreed to terms with the Al-Rayyan until the end of the 2017 season. For the 2016 season, he was loaned to Celta Vigo. However, Rawi was loaned to Eupen Fc in Belgium before the season ended, Rawi was loaned to Eupen Fc in Belgium.
