From an early age, she was interested in sports and joined the children’s team, ESDO in her hometown at the age of six. So far, she has not revealed any details about her parents. 

For her education, Wiegman went to the University of North Carolina and subsequently joined her college team, North Carolina Tar Heels where she made 24 appearances with four goals. Following, she played in the position of central midfielder and defender for KNVB’s Netherland’s women’s national football team from 1987 to 2001.
