Whom do you want to see as the next Prime Minister of UK Rishi Sunak or Liz Truss?

Only two candidates are in the race for the next leader or Prime Minister of the UK, Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak. Rishi Sunak has topped every ballot in the contest. For the final two, he got 137 votes, whereas Liz Truss had 113 votes in her pocket. And former defense secretary Penny Mordaunt was out of the contest with 105 votes. The ballot will close on September 2, 2022. The Chairman of the 1922 committee of Tory Backbenchers will announce the result of the new Conservative party leader and Prime Minister on September 5.

Rishi Sunak

Rishi Sunak comes in the long run as the future leader and prime minister of UK. He worked as a finance minister from 2022 and gained huge support from the public. Furthermore, his work was impeccable, especially during the coronavirus pandemic, furlough scheme, and discounts on eating in restaurants.

Most recently, he faced the question regarding his wife, Akshata Murty, tax status who is a multi-millionaire and daughter of Infosys Founder N.R Narayana Murthy.

Despite of all, he was continuously doing good in competitions ahead in the race of future leader of UK.

Liz Truss

Mary Elizabeth Truss, popularly known as Liz Truss is the next contender. He had 113 votes, lesser than 24 votes of Rishi Sunak. She has been the parliament since 2010. Furthermore, she has been served as a Foreign Secretary since 2021 and Minister of Woman and Equalities since 2019.

Currently, she is steady in the race. However, she has been through scandals throughout all her leadership. she didn’t quit his job over the Chris Pincher scandal because she was coordinating the UK’s response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Whoever wins this contest will be a historic win for the Conservative party.
